Cypress CA Real Estate, Cypress Area and Community Information

History

The Cypress real estate market's first inhabitants included Chumash and Gabrielino Indians who settled in the Cypress area at least 800 years ago. They maintained an active lifestyle that encouraged families to work and play together every day. They also hunted game and gathered plants near what is now Cypress College's main campus.
The Spanish government forced the Chumash and Gabrielino Indians from the Cypress area in the 1780s after a brief struggle. The Spanish government later gave the area to Manuel Nieto as a reward for loyal service in the Spanish army.

The land remained in the possession of Nieto's family until the 1830s when the Mexican government divided the land into several homesteads. Several of these homesteads were purchased in 1842 by Able Stearns.
Stearns converted these homesteads into a ranch that produced high-quality tallow and steer hides. It was later divided into smaller ranchettes that were sold during the 1870s to farmers who were attracted to the Cypress area's prime location near many Los Angeles-area produce markets.
Many of these farms were converted during World War II into munitions factories and military bases. Many of the military personnel who were stationed at these facilities purchased high-quality Cypress homes for sale that were suitable for raising families.

The demand for Cypress properties grew again during the 1970s after Anaheim-area residents discovered the value of purchasing high-quality Cypress real estate listings that were located near the Cypress area's largest employers. This discovery spurred the development of several neighborhoods located near Lincoln Avenue that offer Cypress home buyers many affordable living options.
Cypress CA homes are now located in a thriving community that offers home buyers a stable economy, a friendly atmosphere and convenient access to the Anaheim area's most popular attractions. These benefits make Cypress CA homes a wonderful value for anyone who relocates to Cypress.
